Meet Dr. Maraj
Dr. Baliram Maraj received a three-year specialty certificate in orthodontics along with a Master of Dental Science degree from the University of Connecticut.
He earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University Of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, as well as several awards for dental research and academic achievement. Dr. Maraj also received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Queens College, New York.
Dr. Maraj has demonstrated his commitment to excellence in orthodontics by becoming a board-certified orthodontist. Board certification is a rigorous five- to ten-year process consisting of written and oral exams culminating in a presentation of treatment results of his actual patients for critical review by a board of examiners. Currently, only approximately ten percent of practicing orthodontists in Connecticut are board certified.
Dr. Maraj is dedicated to providing the most advanced treatment available incorporating contemporary research and continuing education. In a poll of more than 2,000 dentists, Connecticut Magazine named him as one of the top orthodontists in the state.
Dr. Maraj is involved in many professional societies including the American Board of Orthodontics, the American Association of Orthodontists, the North Eastern Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, the Hartford Dental Society, and the Waterbury Dental Society.
Dr. Maraj resides in Farmington with his wife Laura and two children, Jillian and Ryan. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys golfing, exercising, reading, and photography.
